Today, I had an off-campus lunch appointment on my calendar. LOVE it when that happens! The salad I would have eaten for lunch was instead eaten for breakfast. And it was good. Fresh mixed greens from the farmer's market, cucumber, tomatoes, kalamata olives, some steak and parsely, cilantro and thyme. Fresh herbs in my salads totally make the salad.
After adding a half avocado, I didn't need much dressing: just a splash of olive oil and balsamic vinegar. The real tip is to always add salt & pepper to your salads. Delicious! I gobbled it up.
And then my lunch appointment got cancelled. WOMP womp.
Now I had a big ol chunk of time in the middle of my day with nothing to do or EAT, so, I went to visit an old, old friend: 24 Hour Fitness. It was like I never left!
I only ended up doing 2 miles. My right calf seized up almost immediately and would not loosen up. Dumb calf.
I haven't been to the gym in FOR-EVAR and my gym bag reflected it. No headphones, no toiletries. The absolute worst: there was no hair tie to be found. I tried tucking my hair into my bra strap but after a couple of miles I was through with that.
This season is looking like the gym and I are going to be good friends again. I'm not sad about that. I guess you need a little time away from the dreadmill in order to appreciate it. Time to re-group and restock the ol' gym bag!
Dr. Holland my chiropractor says I'm doing so well, I only have to come in to his office 1x a week for the sciatica. Thank goodness because it is no easy thing to turn down any of this stuff.
Lucky for me my local WinCo is a bulk food heaven. I had a little extra time after work since BD was kind enough to pick up the Puff for me after school. On my way home I picked up some chocolate goodies (using my own cloth bags) and salty goodies for when those cravings hit.
And I know those cravings will hit. Hard. And I know I will succumb to the temptation.
Do you outwardly eat salads but secretly fiend on Cheez-its or something else artificially colored & flavored?
Yep! for me it's Cheetos, Fritos or Doritos...dipped in Nutella.
