Andrew Kastor, a running legend in his own right, and husband/coach of American marathon record holder Deena Kastor, has had tons of awesome advice for us these past 16+ weeks. When I read that he was the coach/mentor for the LA Road Runners' LA Marathon Training I did not hesitate to sign up! One of my biggest reasons was the chance to meet Deena. That happened.

One bit of wisdom that I've taken away with me at the end of several of Coach Kastor's post-run "lectures" was to get 8 nights of sleep every week. Think about that.
What does this mean for me?
It means NO BINGE WATCHING HOUSE OF CARDS UNTIL THE MARATHON IS OVER. I can hardly stand it. Everybody is talking about it everywhere I go. I'm not sure I'll be able to stay sane for that long or to avoid 'accidentally' reading spoilers on the web. But I AM determined not to get sucked in to binge watching. When HoC Season 2 was released I was up for 36 hours+ straight to watch Francis & Claire RULE THE WORLD. The Underwoods do not disappoint.
At my age however, it took me several weeks to recuperate from all that sleep deprivation. I can't afford do that right now. I need to fit 8 nights of sleep into a 7 night week. If you're looking for me, I'll be asleep under my desk at work.
I did catch last night's episode of The Walking Dead. And I'm all caught up on Better Call Saul. Luckily Orange is the New Black isn't due out until this summer.
